Who is Jesus? What do we know about him? Does Jesus ask anything of us?
Because Jesus is central to the Christian faith, it is vital for followers of Jesus to know Him and more about him; and for those exploring Christianity, to know what makes Jesus Christ unique, and worthy of our discipleship, devotion, and obedience.
Before Jesus returned to the Father, He instructed his followers to go and make disciples of all people, to baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, and then to teach them to obey everything He commanded. Matthew 28:19-20. (insert verse graphic)
To fulfill this command will require us, as his followers, to exercise faith and action … and this can require training.
Because making disciples is very important to Jesus, we offer three tools to help us, the Church, equip all believers for a lifestyle of evangelism and discipleship.
The first is Discipleship Essentials. This free, flexible, multi-format discipleship training tool is Bible-based and was developed to meet the overwhelming need of the global Church for faithful teaching and instruction. Discipleship Essentials consists of 137 lessons in two overarching themes: Essentials for Christian Living and Essentials for
Spiritual Leadership. Discipleship Essentials is designed to equip individuals and active ministries with the resources necessary to help them disciple others. Topics of Discipleship Essentials include, Who Is Jesus, Christian Life and Worldview, Leading Small Groups, Family Life, Leadership Lifestyle, Christian Doctrine and much more!
The second tool is Discipleship Applied. This video-training tool was designed to inspire and equip believers with a vision and strategy for evangelism, giving leaders a tool to train their potential disciples to lead others to Christ. In turn, they lead and train others, and the result is spiritual multiplication. II Timothy 2:2 says, “And the things you have
heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others.”
Some topics covered in Discipleship Applied include, Being Filled with the Holy Spirit, Sharing the Gospel, Walking in the Spirit, Beginning a Spiritual Movement as well as many more!
As it says in Philemon 6, “I pray that you may be active in sharing your faith, so that you will have a full understanding of every good thing we have in Christ.”
The third tool is the Gospel of John. This three-hour feature film faithfully recounts the life of Jesus. It is a word-for-word presentation, dramatized directly from the Good News Bible translation. Millions have viewed this motion picture already, especially as it is readily available on the lifeofjesus.net website.
These three tools are most effectively used together as a comprehensive plan. For example, the Gospel of John can be used to launch an evangelism event. Discipleship Applied to equip followers to boldly evangelize and provide initial new life training that can spawn a spiritual movement. And Discipleship Essentials to help believers grow deeper in their faith through one-on-one or small group engagement. Of course, each tool can also be used separately, depending on your need.
Come and be part of a movement of trained, mature Christ-followers reaching and discipling the next generation of Christian leaders. See the Lord glorified through our obedience to fulfill the command of Christ to make disciples!
